    Biography

Dr. Imran Khan used to be a communication engineer, developing transmission plans for optical signal through optical fibre. Later, he joined as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). Prior to joining JUST, he also served as a faculty member in Daffodil International University and University of Information Technology and Sciences in Bangladesh.

Imran completed his PhD from the Department of Physics and Centre for Sustainability under Energy Management Programme at the University of Otago, New Zealand. He was in receipt of a University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship. In his PhD, he looked at electrical peak demand characterization, in which, he developed two methods: on one hand, one method helps to identify carbon intensive peak hours at the electricity generation side; on the other hand, the other method identifies dominant household factors that contribute most to residential demand at the demand side. Imran had an outstanding publication record during his PhD.

Imran graduated with a Bachelor of Science in ECE from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh. He completed his M.Sc. Engineering in ECE (major in Photonics) from the same university; part of his M.Sc. course work was completed from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
