AN EFFICIENT NETWORK-AWARE VIRTUAL MACHINE PLACEMENT MODEL IN CLOUD COMPUTING USING HYBRID OPTIMIZATION TECHNIQUES

Nazmul Hossain

Cloud computing has become a popular computing paradigm for hosting and delivering services over the Internet. There are three major types of cloud computing:

infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS). Infrastructure as a Service allows virtualization in cloud computing .Virtualization enables dynamic sharing of physical resources in cloud computing environments, allowing multiple applications to run in different performance- isolated platforms called virtual machines (VMs) in a single physical server. Virtual machine placement is a process of mapping virtual machines to physical machines and aimed to find the best Physical Machine (PM) to host the VM. VM placement can be formulated as a bin packing problem. It is NP-Hard. Here, we try to analyze whether the increasing traffic loads between the virtual machines and minimum completion time of the systems can be effectively maintained by the new system model or not.
