Mr. Subrata Mondal was born on August 3, 1975 in Jessore district. He started his school life from Diganga Kuchalia govt. Primary and High School, Jessore taking admission in class one. He always obtained 1st /2nd/3rd position in every class. In school life he obtained secondary scholarship. He passed SSC in 1990 from D. K. H. High School and HSC in 1992 from Govt. B. L. College, Khulna and obtained first division both. In school and college life, he participated in many national training programmes of Scout was awarded in different competitions. While studying in school and college, many times he was also awarded in different cultural programmes such as debate competition, essay writing and poem recitation. Two times he participated in science fair and got prize. He obtained Bachelor of Science and MS (Fisheries Management dept.) degree from Fisheries Faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh in 1997 (Examination held in 2000). He got both his graduation and post graduation with successfully both stood first class. He got Phd award 2017. He joined as a Scientific Officer, Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI) since 21 January 2001 to 29 June 2009. After then he joined as a lecturer in the Dept. of Fisheries and Marine Bioscience (FMB) of Jessore University of Science and Technology, Jessore, Bangladesh. And also was a Director (students counselling and guidance) and Transport administrator in additional duty in this University. Now he is working as Professor since 8 December 2018. He is a member of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) and Bangladesh Fisheries Research Forum (BFRF).
He published more than 21 research articles in different journals at home and abroad. He also participated in many workshops, seminars and training programmes in country. The author is married to Lipi Paul and blessed with two daughters Debadrita Mondal and Aditi Mondal .
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
a) Cultural suitabiliy of Rohtee cotio in combination with Amblypharyngodon mola and Cyprinus carpio in rice fields.
b) Brood stock management and trial for induced breeding of sea bass, Lates calcarifer.
c) Development of artificial diet for locally available for ingredients for shrimp, Penaeus monodon.
d) Multilocation trial for BFRI GIFT and silverbarb culture technology in farmer’s pond at Jessore.
e) Development of protocol for diagnosis, prevention and control protocol measures of commonly occuring diseases in carp hatcheries and nurseries in Jessore region.
f) Co-ordinated regional project on production and dissemination of improved carp barbs.
g) Water quality management for pond culture.
h) Food and feeding habit, growth and condition factors of Indian major carps barbs.
i) Production techniques of Indian major craps, Tilapia, Thai sarputi and pangas.
j) Brood fish management and rearing techniques of Thai Koi, Anabas testudineus.
