Md Abdus Salam joined the Department of AIS at the University in 2016 as a Lecturer of Accounting and was promoted to Assistant Professor of Accounting in 2018.
Mr Salam is currently on study leave in the United States, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Accounting at the School of Accounting, Florida International University, Florida. He previously earned an MBA from Illinois State University in the United States, in which he received the 'Outstanding MBA Student Award'.
He also holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) and a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Information Systems from the Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh, completed in 2014 and 2015, respectively. In recognition of his outstanding academic performance, he was awarded two consecutive Gold Medals by the Hon’ble President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
He has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Management, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Business Statistics. His primary research interests lie in the areas of Earnings Management, Capital Markets, and Corporate Governance.
During his leisure time, Mr. Salam engages in recreational sports such as tennis, cricket, football, and badminton. He also cherishes spending meaningful time with his kid and family.
