Farzana Yeasmin Nipa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Bangladesh. She joined the department as a Lecturer in 2015 and has been serving as an Assistant Professor since 2018. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at JUST, where her research focuses on semiconductor-based photocathodes, hydrogen production technologies, and sustainable energy materials. She obtained her Master of Science in Energy Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), and Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Mining Engineering from Jashore University of Science and Technology with an excellent academic record.
Alongside her academic duties, she has contributed significantly to university administration, serving as Assistant Provost of Beerprotik Taramon Bibi Hall and previously of Tapashi Rabeya Hall. Her research interests encompass hydrogen production, petroleum engineering, reservoir characterization, wireline logging, coal bed methane, renewable energy, mining engineering, and geotechnical analysis.
She has been actively engaged in research as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator in several nationally funded projects supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), BANBEIS, and the JUST Research Cell. Her scholarly work has been published in reputable international journals, spanning topics such as photocatalytic hydrogen production, sediment provenance, hydrocarbon dew point determination, reservoir engineering, and coal geochemistry. With a strong commitment to academic excellence, research, and sustainable energy development, Farzana Yeasmin Nipa continues to contribute to the advancement of petroleum and mining engineering education in Bangladesh.
