Dr. Md. Minhaj Uddin Monir is a distinguished academic currently serving as Professor at the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Bangladesh, a position he has held since June 2023. Concurrently, he contributes to institutional advancement as the Director of the Research Cell at JUST, where he spearheads initiatives to promote interdisciplinary research, innovation, and academic collaboration.

Dr. Monir has been an integral member of the university since joining as a Lecturer in December 2010. Through exemplary performance, he progressed through key academic ranks, being promoted to Assistant Professor in February 2014 and Associate Professor in February 2020. His leadership and dedication have significantly enriched the academic and research culture of the department.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Monir has authored over 65 peer-reviewed journal articles and contributed to 12 book chapters to date (10/4/2025), addressing critical topics in Energy & Environment, Waste/Biomass/Bioenergy, Gasification/Co-gasification, Coal Processing. His scholarly work, published in reputed international journals and edited volumes, reflects his commitment to advancing knowledge and solving global challenges in resource management and sustainable development.

Prior to his tenure at JUST, Dr. Monir contributed to technical education as an Instructor (Technical) in the Department of Mining and Mine Survey Technology at Bogura Polytechnic Institute, under the Directorate of Bangladesh Technical Education, from February 2006 to December 2010. His early career laid a strong foundation in pedagogy and industry-aligned technical training.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Monir earned his PhD in Energy and Environment (2019) from University Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Malaysia, under the Faculty of Engineering Technology (FTEK). Earlier, he completed his B.Sc. (2001) and M.Sc. (2002) degrees in Geology and Mining from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, where he honed his expertise in earth sciences and resource engineering.
