Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance and Banking under the Faculty of Business Studies at Jashore University of Science and Technology since December 07, 2019. Earlier he joined this Department as a Lecturer on February 17, 2018. He started his teaching career at Southeast Business School at Southeast University, Dhaka, and successfully worked there for about three years.

He achieved a BBA degree with excellent results from the Department of Banking and Insurance, University of Dhaka. He also completed his MBA in Insurance from the same department by securing a first-class position. He was honored Dean’s Award, the most prestigious academic award of the University of Dhaka, for his excellent results in his MBA. Besides, he was well recognized for his involvement in different extracurricular and welfare activities at the university. He did another MBA from Illinois State University. He also acquired graduate certificates on Data Science and Business Analytics.

Mr. Nazrul was a proud executive member of the Jashore University of Science and Technology Teachers’ Association (JUSTTA). He is also a member of the Surjasen Banking Unit (SBU) and Dhaka University Alumni Association of Banking (DUAAB).

From the very beginning of his teaching career, Mr. Nazrul has involved himself in rigorous research activities. He has attended numerous seminars and workshops to have a better understanding of his research. Finance, Banking, and Insurance are his areas of research and he has published some scholarly research articles in some reputed national and international journals. Currently, he is pursuing his doctoral degree in Finance concentration at Texas Tech University. He is doing his research on the Paycheck Protection Plan loan.
