Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Bangladesh. He began his academic career at JUST in 2013 as a Lecturer and has been serving as an Associate Professor since 2024.

Prior to joining JUST, Dr. Islam gained valuable experience in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry. He worked as a Product Executive at Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where he was involved in product management, market research, and scientific communication. He also served as a Lecturer at Southeast University, Dhaka, where he taught core pharmacy courses and contributed to departmental development.

Dr. Islam obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degrees from the University of Rajshahi. He later completed his PhD in Statistical Genetics from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. His doctoral research focused on the development and application of statistical and computational models to explore the genetic architecture of complex traits and diseases.
