    Biography

I am Dr.Md.Alauddin, is working as Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition and Food Technology, Jashore University of Science and Technology, Jashore-7408, Bangladesh. My research objective is the development of functional food and evaluation its effect on metabolic syndrome with focus the cellular mechanism. My PhD awarded on “the effect of functional food component on metabolic syndrome in genetic animal model of life style-related disease from Laboratory of Nutrition ,Department of Science of Food Function and Health , Division of Bioscience and Biotechnology for Future Bioindustries ,Tohoku University, Japan, 2016. I am also interested on nutritional metabolites screening by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), LC-MS/MS, GC as well as fundamental bioinformatics, DNA sequence, PCR, RT-PCR, protein expression and characterization.

     WORKING  EXPERIENCES

Postdoctoral researcher (Funded by World Bank), Academic-industry partnership:

Department of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology, University of Dhaka, (Jun 16, 2016 to December 2017). Genetic disorder inborn error of metabolism (IEM). Biosimilars/biologics development from yeast, bacteria and mammalian cells, bioprocess design to do industrial cell culture, media design, small to large scale protein purification using different chromatographic system, bio-analysis to do higher order protein characterization using LC/MS-MS, CZE, FACS, Biacore, immunogenicity study, Lateral flow kit development for disease diagnosis.

    Research in Japan:

Division of Bioscience and Biotechnology for Future Bioindustries, Tohoku University, Japan (October 1, 2012 to March 25, 2016). Development of processed soymilk (PSM) as functional food from plant based soymilk by treatment with a commercially available proteinase to generate inhibitory peptides against the angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE). Novel ACE inhibitory peptide was identified from processed soymilk and investigated that processed soymilk containing tetra peptide FFYY effectively ameliorates hypertension on animal model of hypertensive rat SHR. The mechanism of how fermented rice bran (FRB) supplement suppress life style-related disease. FRB mitigates metabolic syndrome by regulating glucose and fat metabolism genes expression (G6C, PEPCK, ACaCa, GcK, L-PK, HMGCR, FASN, SCD1, CPT1, PRKAA1, AOX1 and VLCAD) and nuclear transcription factors (LXRα, SREBP-1c and ChREBPα mRNA). Furthermore, FRB increased serum adiponectin level and raised a strong correlation between fat mass and leptin level. Moreover, western blot analysis showed that FRB improved AMPK activation. These FRB can improve life style-related disease via ACE inhibition and improve adiponectin/AMPK signaling pathway in pre-diabetic condition.

Furthermore, Polyphenols (Melinjo resveratrol, dimer of resveratrol) isolated from plant seed and investigated its function as colorectal cancer remedy in Msh2 (DNA mismatch repair gene) knockout mice model. I developed Msh2-/- mice model by genotyping and investigated melinjo resveratrol effectively extended the life span of Msh2 knockout mice which are prone to develop colon cancer compare to untreated mice.
