Shuvo, SD is a public health nutritionist with a MS and BSc in Nutrition and Food Technology from the Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). He is awarded a prestigious Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) scholarship to undertake his PhD at the School of Medical, Indigenous, and Health Sciences, University of Wollongong, Australia. He is working as Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition and Food Technology, JUST, Jashore, Bangladesh. His primary research focus is on addressing food security and safety; diet-related non-communicable diseases burden including obesity, underweight, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer; implementing and evaluating policies and interventions to improve public health nutrition for different populations. Additional research includes water, sanitation, hygiene and environmental health. His teaching expertise are in dietary assessment methods, clinical nutrition, community nutrition and public health, food safety and security.
