Improving my knowledge and skills to contribute to health science development at Jashore University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh through enhancing teaching-learning quality, developing research skills of young students, and promoting and conducting collaborative research with local and global institutions.

Earlier, I have joined in Jashore University of Science and Technology, just after completion of my graduation from University of Dhaka as a lecturer in July 2011. In October 2014, I have enrolled in Kumamoto University, Japan as HIGO Program Scholar to complete my PhD degree in life sciences. In general, research students are confined in course work and in laboratory but HIGO program encourages students to understand history and culture of the country or region to find out contextual solution to improve health needs. Besides, the HIGO program develops students in such a way so that they can be fit for their own countries as well as for wider context in Asia. As a HIGO program scholar, I have gained ability in my field of study which helps me to understand the challenges and scope of possible solution in the specified field.

During my PhD, I gained professional experience on Ubiquitin-proteasome system for protein homeostasis using AAA molecular chaperones Cdc48 in yeast and published 03 articles. I identified the Cdc48-20S proteasome and its substrates, and demonstrated substrate degradation by this novel proteasome in-vitro. One of my identified substrates is SOD1, which is a causative protein of neurodegenerative disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Human Cdc48 homolog is VCP, and it has been identified as a gene whose mutations cause ALS.So, my study has further verified the linkage between Cdc48/VCP and SOD1 and has proposed the possible mechanism of ALS related to defective degradation of SOD1 by my newly identified proteasome.

After completion of my PhD in September 2018, I came back to join the university to resume my professional activities.
