Tanmoy Mazumder was born in 22 December 1986 in a middle class family in the village Bahadurpur of Jashore district in Bangladesh. His father Binoy Mazumder has been an employee in Sonali Bank Limited and his mother Taposhi Mazumder has been a school teacher. He has a younger brother named Chinmoy Mazumder. Tanmoy Mazumder studied in Jashore Zilla School and passed his SSC exam in 2002 in Science and then he got himself admitted in Jashore Cantonment College and passed his HSC exam in 2005 in Science. He graduated in English from Jahangirnagar University in 2009 and, in the following year, earned his Master of Arts degree from the Dept of English in the same university. His area of concentration has been literature. His professional career started in the Dept of English in Gonobiswabidyalay, Savar, Dhaka as a lecturer. He then left the job and joined Mercantile Bank Limited as a Management Trainee Officer in 2013 and served their till he qualified in the 33rd BCS examination in the General Education Cadre and joined Jashore Govt City College as a lecturer in English. He continued his job there from 7 August 2014 to 16 April 2016 and then, on 17 April 2016, he joined here in Jashore University of Science and Technology in the Dept of English as a lecturer. Currently, he has been working here as an Assistant Professor. His area of interest has been South Asian literature, critical theory, postcolonial studies, translation studies and cultural studies. Apart from his academic interests, he possesses deep interest in sports, especially cricket.
