Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Bangladesh. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Nagasaki University, Japan, under the prestigious Monbukagakusho (MEXT) Scholarship program.
Dr. Islam completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in 2008 and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in 2009 from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. His academic and research interests lie primarily in the fields of Environmental Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry.
Following the completion of his master’s degree, Dr. Islam began his professional career as a chemist in a reputed industrial organization in Bangladesh. He later joined MJL Bangladesh Limited (www.mjlbl.com), an affiliated organization of AXXON Mobil, USA, where he worked as a chemist in the lubricant oil industry from March 16, 2015, to April 29, 2016.
Dr. Islam joined the Department of Chemistry at Jashore University of Science and Technology as a Lecturer on April 30, 2016. Through his dedication to teaching, research, and academic service, he was promoted to Associate Professor on January 20, 2026. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at JUST, Bangladesh.
