Rashedul Islam is a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Jashore University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. He completed his BSc and MS in Chemistry (Inorganic Branch) from Jahangirnagar University-1342, graduating with distinction and conducting research on salinity effects on iron and phosphorus cycling in coastal soils.

Before joining Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), he worked as a research chemist and scientific officer at the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), where he contributed to projects related to environmental chemistry, materials synthesis, and hydrogen energy. His research interests include soil nutrient dynamics under changing environmental conditions, biodegradable polymer extraction from natural resources, and carbon nanotube–based membranes for hydrogen purification.

He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at international conferences, including Goldschmidt (Lyon, France). Rashedul Islam is also associated with professional scientific communities such as the European Association of Geochemistry.

His research interests include soil nutrient dynamics (particularly phosphorus, silicon, carbon, and iron) under changing environmental conditions, the extraction of environmentally friendly biodegradable polymers from natural resources and their applications.
