Dr. Md. Moklesur Rahman is currently working as an Associate Professor at the department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME) under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jashore University of Science and Technology, Jashore, Bangladesh since April 8, 2018. He joined as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor at the same department on December 19, 2010 and on 08 February 2014, respectively. He has also worked in a Swedish Sida funded multinational collaborative research cum implementation project titled ‘Sustainable Arsenic Mitigation’ (SASMIT) as a research fellow from March 2008 to December 18, 2010. He received his B.Sc and M.Sc degree in Geology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has also completed additional master thesis from KTH University, Sweden as an exchange student in 2009. He has awarded the University merit scholarship as well as the Linas-Palme scholarship as an exchange student in Sweden. He has awarded the PhD degree in seismology (seismic hazard assessment) under the structural Geology discipline from the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research (IPTCAS), University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China in 2017 under the CAS-TWAS doctoral fellowship program. Many under grade and post graduate students are working under his supervision. His research interest is in the field of natural hazards (seismic hazards, climate induced hazards such as drought and saline water intrusion) assessment and mitigation.
