PhD in Coastal Engineering (Nagoya University, Japan).
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Dr. Mohammad Shaiful Islam has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Jashore University of Science and Technology, Jashore-7408, since April 2016. He joined as a Lecturer in the following Department and worked from 2014 to 2016.
Mr. Islam completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, in 2010 and a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the same university in 2011. In 2019, he moved to Japan to pursue a PhD degree at Nagoya University, Japan, with a fully funded prestigious Japanese MEXT scholarship, and returned after being awarded the degree. During his PhD, he worked to determine the longshore sediment transport in a physical circular wave basin model as well as the artificial reef effects on sedimentation on a sloping topography. At the same time, he developed a numerical wave basin model as same to the experiments. Currently, he is working toward figuring out the mechanism of longshore current generation on a sandy sloping topography.
