Md. Amzad Hossain, Dr. Eng. joined as a “Postdoctoral Research Associate” in the Nuclear Radiation Laboratory, Department of Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA since 01 May 2023. He worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher (Senior Scientist) in the Institute of Theoretical Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany from 01/04/2022 to 09/12/2022. He received Doctoral (Dr. Eng.) degree in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Saga University, Japan 0n 25 September, 2018.
Moreover, He received his B. Sc. Eng. and M. Sc. Eng. degree from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), Bangladesh, in 2010 and 2014, respectively, both in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
He is currently working as an Associate Professor, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Jashore -7408, Bangladesh. He has been actively involved in the study, research, teaching and consulting project works with undergraduate students.
His research interests are plasma sources for material processing, plasma sputtering, CVD, high-density RF magnetized plasma discharges for functional film preparation, nano material synthesis and characterization, atmospheric pressure plasma, and modelling of plasma sources, SPR sensor, renewable energy, communication engineering and optical fiber system.
He is interested in cutting-edge research, industrial collaboration, and teaching. He is trying to organize regular meetings with students, setting and carrying out new experiments, interacting with industrial research partners, writing new grant proposals and project reports, attending conferences, publishing project reports in peer-reviewed journals, and identifying new research directions.
He was born in Chuadanga, Bangladesh. He has had administrative experience working as the Chairman of the Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering for more than three years, PUO, BNCC Air Wings at JUST, Provost at SMR Hall and Assistant Proctor at Jashore Science and Technology University. He worked as chairman and member of various examination committee at JUST. Moreover, He organized various meetings, and seminars at JUST. He is the member of IEB, Bangladesh, JSAP, Japan, APS, USA and IEEE.
