Md. Tanvir Hossen is an Assistant Professor (On study leave) at the Department of Textile Engineering in Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Bangladesh. He served as a full-time Lecturer at the Department of Textile Engineering in Uttara University (UU), and also as an Adjunct faculty at the Department of Yarn Engineering in Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Textile Engineering degree from Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) and is currently pursuing hid PhD in Art and design focusing on exploring new materials for future textiles at Nottingham Trent University, UK. He was awarded different private and government scholarships for achieving excellent academic results and co-curricular activities at the secondary and higher secondary school and university levels.
Md. Tanvir Hossen has published different research articles in the national and international arena. He is interested in applying modern approaches and techniques in solving different problems faced by textile mills, especially spinning mills, during several manufacturing processes of textile products and in enhancing the properties of fibers, yarns, fabrics, and overall textile raw materials and end products. His research interests include the characterization of Natural and Man-made fibers, the manufacturing and characterization of nanocellulose and nanocomposites, Smart, Protective and Medical Textiles, etc.
