    Biography

Dr. Farhana Yeasmin is an academic and researcher whose scholarly work lies at the intersection of English literature, applied linguistics, and technology-enhanced education. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST), Bangladesh, where she has been actively engaged in teaching and research since 2017. Her academic practice reflects a strong commitment to learner-centered pedagogy, critical inquiry, and innovative teaching methodologies that encourage creativity, intellectual curiosity, and cross-cultural understanding.

Dr. Yeasmin completed her BA and MA degrees in English from Khulna University, graduating first-class first in both programs. Her doctoral research, supported by a University Grants Commission (UGC) fellowship, culminated in the thesis titled Technology-Assisted English Language Testing at the Tertiary Level in Bangladesh: Problems and Prospects. The study critically investigates the challenges and opportunities associated with integrating digital technologies into language assessment in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). By examining the potential of AI-driven adaptive testing systems and mobile-assisted language assessment tools, her research situates English language education in Bangladesh within a broader global framework, highlighting its crucial role in developing digital literacy, adaptability, and critical thinking among university graduates.

In her teaching career, Dr. Yeasmin contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, offering courses such as Advanced Communicative English, Basic Language Skills, English for Professional Purposes, South Asian Literature, and World Literature. Her pedagogical philosophy prioritizes interactive and learner-centered classroom practices that aim to strengthen students’ confidence, linguistic proficiency, and critical engagement with literary and cultural texts. Through context-sensitive instructional approaches, she seeks to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical communicative competence.

Beyond her doctoral research, Dr. Yeasmin’s scholarship extends to curriculum innovation, literary analysis, English language teaching and testing, and feminist criticism. Her research interests encompass areas such as English Language Teaching (ELT), Technology-Assisted Language Testing (TALT), Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALT), language policy, gender studies, and world literature. She has published extensively in Scopus- and Web of Science–indexed journals, addressing themes including gender politics in classical and modern literary texts, the teaching–testing nexus in tertiary education, and the socio-cultural dynamics of South Asian literature. Her work contributes to ongoing scholarly conversations in English studies while also aligning with global educational priorities such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the goal of promoting inclusive and quality education.

In addition to her research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Yeasmin actively participates in academic and scholarly communities. She has presented her research at national and international conferences, chaired academic sessions, and served as an advisor to student organizations, thereby contributing to the development of vibrant intellectual environments within and beyond her institution. Her continued engagement with technology-assisted pedagogy and inclusive learning practices reflects her broader vision of higher education as a transformative force capable of preparing students to address both local challenges and global opportunities.
