Dr. A. M. Swaraz is a molecular biologist who earned his doctoral degree from Chungnam National University, South Korea, where he functionally characterized the spliceosomal proteins in the Arabidopsis model system. At the same time, he also participated in the identification of the genes involved in the bolting process or flowering time of Chinese cabbage. He conducted research on the molecular genetics of the cellulose synthase gene for biofuel applications as a postdoctoral researcher at Chonnam National University in South Korea. Dr. A. M. Swaraz joined the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Jashore University of Science and Technology as a faculty member and is currently serving as a professor in this department. He has continued his research after joining this university in molecular biology and bioenergy. He also orchestrates multidisciplinary research, including the bioactivity of phytoextracts, functional foods, and bioactive compounds against multifactorial diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and obesity. He used various omics technologies and mouse models in his studies. Dr. A. M. Swaraz obtained research grants from the UGC (University Grant Commission of Bangladesh), the MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh), and the JUSTRC (Jashore University of Science and Technology Research Cell).
