Automatic Detection of Maturity Stages of BARI Aam-3.

The research is designed with the following objectives-

i)     To eliminate the disadvantages of current state of the art for mango classification and packaging where mangoes of different categories may be packed in the same package and thus their shelf lives are reduced.

ii)   To automate the categorization of mangoes in the industries so that less human intervention is required and time and costs are saved thereby.

The following outputs from the project will be considered for the assessment of its success-

i)     Categorization of mangoes according to their maturity stages.

ii)   Automatic packaging of mangoes based on the categorization.

The proposed system will help industries automate the packaging system with less human intervention. Thus, time consumption and costs will be reduced with increased throughput or packaging rate. This will help industries sustain by reduced costs. The system proposed has no environmental effect except for the use of computers. Therefore, this will help the country to become sustainable and digital country.
