The Faculty of Arts and Social Science started functioning in 2011 as the Faculty of Physical Education, Language and Moral Education. Later in 2016, this faculty was bifurcated into two faculties namely the Faculty of Arts and Social Science and the Faculty of Health Science. The Department of English in the Faculty of Arts and Social Science was launched in April 2014. The proposal of opening some other subjects in this faculty is under consideration.

The Department of English in this Faculty offers the following programmes and courses:

1. PhD
2. MPhil
3. MA in English (1 year, 2 semesters)
4. BA (Hons) in English (4 years, 8 semesters)
5. Communicative English courses (for other departments of the university)
6. English Language Skills Development Certificate Course
