My Curriculum Vitae

I’m Arif Rahman. I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department and I have been teaching for more than 8 years. I have been on leave for PhD study at Kyung Hee University, Republic of Korea from February, 2020. Here, I have been working at Data and Knowledge Engineering Laboratory in the department of Computer Science and Engineering.

I was born in Jashore. I passed my SSC and HSC from Police Line Secondary School, Jashore and Cantonment College, Jashore accordingly. I studied at Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur, Bangladesh at my Bachelor and Master Levels. After I finished university, I have joined as a Lecturer of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST). While working at JUST which I realised how important is teaching Computer Science to young learners and make them familiar with real life work at software industries, I have been working as a chief adviser of Chakladar Corp at Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park (SHSTP), Jashore, which is one of the Start-up companies in Bangladesh.

In 2009, I got Professional certification called Oracle certified Professional Database Administrator 9i (OCP DBA) which is recognized globally and I am still going on my self-development in database.I am very interest in Database related software research. Currently, I am working on relational database model in MySQL, oracle and SQL Server Environment. I used PL/SQL at MySQL and Oracle as well as T-SQL at SQL Server. I am little bit crazy about NoSQL environment where I am intended to use Mongodb. I am very interested in data analytics.

I’m working very hard at JUST. I’m teaching Bachelor and Master levels this year and supervising some researches at grade and post-grade level. I have another additional responsibility as the Director of ICT Cell at JUST. As Director, I have successfully implemented JUST Universe (the official website of JUST www.just.edu.bd) which is the final year project with my Bachelor Student. I have also successfully implemented JUST Start-up Program at Sheikh Hasina Software Technology Park. My intension is to create some entrepreneurs from JUST.

We, the teachers from different departments of JUST, get together to think how our curriculum can be competitive to the industry level, which I consider as one of the most important stages of teaching as we teach young learners because without industry collaboration our teaching cannot be established in effective way. I dream every laboratory of JUST is an industry from where we can generate profit.

I like travelling different places, meet different peoples all over the world and share their ideas. I love to dream even if it is not achievable. But I believe, no new idea will come without dreaming.
